Paul has spent over 28 years in both the public and private sector, serving as a career officer in the United States Air Force and as a Chief Architect/Program Management executive on large-scale security programs for Lockheed Martin. Paul has extensive experience in the research and implementation of high performance, advanced algorithms for large-scale search, heuristic-based solutions for NP-Complete optimization problems, semantic web applications, and the automated synthesis of advanced algorithms. He led programs that included the early application of semantic web technologies to very large planning problems, as well as the implementation of Department of Defense policies to facilitate large-scale and secure sharing of data, information, and knowledge, incorporating web service infrastructures and security standards. For the last 10 years, Paul has served as CTO, COO, and CEO of IT security consulting companies focused on Identity and Access Management, acting as a thought leader on architecture and design principles for modern security architectures that incorporate a well thought out and planned end-to-end security design and implementation.

Paul has a BS in Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Maryland as well as an MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). He is a Distinguished Graduate of Air Force ROTC and AFIT. Paul has published 15 scholarly articles in refereed conferences and journals as well as multiple book chapters. He has also served as a program committee member for ACM and IEEE conferences as well as a reviewer of conference and journal submittals. Paul enjoys working in team-oriented complex problem-solving environments. Paul also enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities in the mountains of Colorado.
